About Jerrapark
Welcome — we’re Chris and Christine, and we’re so happy to share Jerrapark Hideaway with you.

Longing to escape the gridlock and chaos of city life in Sydney we dreamed of something simpler and more sustainable — a place where we could grow food, plant fruit trees, and maybe even keep a few horses. Christine had held that vision close for years.

When we found Jerrapark, it was a wild and overgrown permaculture farm — bordered by national park and state forest, and bursting with potential. The previous owner had planted over 40,000 trees to regenerate the land, and hosted volunteers from around the world in old 1930s railway carriages.

We’ve poured our love, time and energy into this land — and we invite you to experience the magic for yourself.

Our story....
The trains.....

The famous Jerrapark Train-Carriage Accommodation offers something totally unique… a purpose-built celebration of the olden days of rail when steam and later diesel locomotives were the lifeblood of commerce and travel in Australia.

The two carriages started their life in the 1930’s and each of the compartments are named after a major rail destination of yesteryear. Now complete with their rolling stock they have been extensively refurbished and provide all the creature comforts…

Between the carriages is a large deck which also encompasses a modern kitchen, bar toilets and bathrooms and a cosy fireplace.

Down the stairs you will find our incredible wholstic spa pavilion, complete with sauna and waterfall spa.
This land.....

Jerrapark began as a working permaculture farm, shaped by a deep commitment to sustainable living and ecological harmony.
Originally designed using the principles of permaculture design, the land was carefully regenerated to support abundant food production, native habitat restoration, and a low-impact lifestyle.
From swales and compost systems to herb spirals and food forests, every corner of the property was created with intention — not just to grow food, but to nurture resilience, community, and connection to nature.

While Jerrapark has since evolved into a wellness retreat and accommodation space, its roots in permaculture remain strong. The land continues to support seasonal fruit orchards, edible gardens, and systems that care for soil, water, and wildlife. Staying here is more than a getaway — it’s an invitation to experience how humans and nature can thrive together, gently and beautifully.

Rooted in permaculture principles, Jerrapark exists to support meaningful reconnection with the natural world and the deeper energies that sustain life.
Jerrapark offers a chance to totally de-stress…
ENJOY THE BALM OF IMMERSING YOURSELF IN NATURE

Take a stroll through the verdant pecan forest where our horses graze… sit by the bubbling creek… and if you’re very quiet, you might just glimpse a platypus foraging. When the weather turns hot and steamy, cool off with a dip in one of the dams, or wander down to the waterfall that cascades through most of the year — a perfect place to meditate in a primal grotto, watched over by towering gums and palms.

Guests staying with us also have full access to our wellness facilities — including our wood-fired sauna, luxuriously deep hot tub, an outdoor spa big enough for groups, and magnesium swimming pool. Whether you’re here for stillness, connection, or gentle restoration, Jerrapark invites you to slow down and return to yourself.

Later, wander up the hill and take in a glimpse of our small corner of the ancient caldera, with Mt Warning /Wollumbin rising in the distance. You might even find a ripe mango or two to take home for a sweet treat.
Back at the carriages, the herb garden greets you with the scent of wild basil, thyme, lavender, lemon balm and mint — weaving a spell to inspire your next nourishing meal in the kitchen.
At night, gather around the firepit under a canopy of stars. Roast chestnuts, share stories, or simply listen to the sounds of the forest as the day falls away.

Jerrapark is the perfect faraway place for quiet retreats, wellness weekends, and nature-based rest — a sanctuary for those seeking peace, simplicity, and reconnection.
